The editorial team of the blog "Health Financing in Africa" (HFA) is looking for volunteers, journalist volunteers more specifically. These "journalists" will be asked to interview international experts in Health Financing, and share key information from these interviews with the community in the form of a blog, posted on HFA. It’s a nice opportunity for some of you to interact at the highest level, learn about current themes in health financing and have the pleasure of sharing this new knowledge with all of us!

Why could this project interest you?

The editorial team of HFA regularly allows new people to showcase their expertise and skills (and get known in the process), by offering to write an article on the blog HFA. This is part of the mission of this platform dedicated to the discussion and sharing of knowledge.

By speaking with key people previously identified and contacted by the editorial team, you will be able to demonstrate your interviewing  and authorship skills, and get access to the thousands of readers who visit the HFA blog each month. You will find out quickly if you don’t have experience in this area; writing a blog is an exercise that requires rigor and a knack for synthesis. However, you will always be able to count on the support of the editorial team. They will advise you and assist you throughout the process prior to publication.

What needs to be done exactly?

The details are described in detail on the sheet dedicated to the project, published here on "Collectivity".

The editorial team will invite you to go and meet (face to face or on Skype) with an expert, usually an expert on a topic related to the financing of health in developing countries. After this interview, it will then be up to you to turn this discussion into a lively blog post, which will be published under your name on HFA.

Some preparatory work will be generally recommended, in order to better know the ideas, stances, and publications of the person you are going to interview - in any case, it’s a good additional opportunity to refresh or improve your knowledge!

How can you participate ?

The following profiles are especially sought: people who have prior training or expertise in Public Health and Health Financing; who speak English and / or French; and, "last but not least", have good writing skills!

If you are interested and think you fit the profile, you are invited to join the project by clicking on the button "join the project"  accessible here.  If you have not yet created a profile on Collectivity, this is a good opportunity to do so. It will only take you 5 minutes, and then you can apply for the project itself. Some advice: you can fill in all the detail on  your profile in several iterations, but do add a picture of yourself straight away. It's always more fun for other community members to see who they are dealing with ... and it helps you to be more visible as well!

The editorial team will then make its selection and who knows, maybe you'll have the chance to join the team as an online 'journalist' on the theme of health financing!

Hope to collaborate soon with some of you!
